The Yanks Air Museum – Where History, Learning, and Entertainment Unite

Yanks Air Museum in Chino California

The Yanks Air Museum got its start back in 1973 with the acquisition of a beautiful Beech Staggerwing plane. Since then, the museum’s collection has grown to include more than 160 different aircraft – all of which are on display for guests to view.

The founders of the museum spent almost 40 years traveling the world in order to find rare American airplanes and parts. Because of this hard work and dedication, the Yanks Air Museum is now home to many extremely rare planes – some of which are the last of their kind in the world. For example, their F4F Wildcat plane was raised from the waters of Lake Michigan; meanwhile the wings to their Dauntless Dive Bomber were excavated near the Guadalcanal.

Not only can guests view all of these magnificent planes, but they can also tour the restoration hangar and see the materials and techniques that are used to restore aircraft to their original glory. If you choose to take a guided tour, you will be led by a docent, learn about the history of the museum, explore more than 9 acres and 4 hangars, learn about many of the amazing planes, and take a walk through their “boneyard” to see their future projects.

The Yanks Air Museum is truly a great place for young and old alike. If you have never visited, why not stop in today? They are located at 7000 Merrill Avenue in Chino, California. For more information, or to book a guided tour, call (909) 597-1735 or visit their official website by clicking here.
