Celebrate African American Heritage!

We wanted to let everyone know that the Chino Hills Library will be hosting an African American Heritage Event toward the end of the month. So mark your calendars for Thursday, February 25th at 4:00 PM and come on in!

This should be a great event for the whole family to attend. As you know, February is African American History Month, or Black History Month. The idea first came to fruition via historian Carter G. Woodson and The Association for the Study of Negro Life and History back in 1926 as “Negro History Week”. Then, in 1976, President Gerald R. Ford expanded what is now called African American History Month to cover the entire month. In his address, Ford Stated:

“Seize the opportunity to honor the too-often neglected accomplishments of black Americans in every area of endeavor throughout our history.”

The Chino Hills Library is located at 14020 City Center Drive.

For more information about the event and other upcoming events, you can call the library at 909-590-5380. You can also view more of their events by visiting their official website: Click Here! Then select the Chino Hills Branch and search their calendar.
